Collect Survey Answers Into CRM Fields
What this does
A survey or web form can write each answer straight into a CRM field, so a customer who fills out your form is created or updated in your CRM without anyone retyping. The survey builder you already use is the form builder: nothing new to learn.
Web forms belong to the CRM Studio package; see your plan under Billing, Usage Overview.
Set it up
- Open Surveys and edit or create a survey.
- On a question, choose the type CRM field and pick the record type and field it should fill.
- Under After submit, choose what to create: a contact, a deal or a ticket. If the email matches an existing contact, that contact is updated instead of duplicated.
- Turn on the Shareable link to publish the form on its own web page, or send the survey inside a chat.
What your customer sees
The form follows the same rules as any survey: required questions, show or hide rules, consent text and your branding. Format checks run as the visitor types and again when the form is sent.
Good to know
- A form never fills a field the visitor was not shown on the form, unless you place it there on purpose.
- Every submission is kept with the survey results, and the created record links back to it.
