UTM Codes Panel in Conversation Details

When a visitor arrives at your site from a tagged marketing link — a Google Ads campaign, an email newsletter, a social post — the URL usually carries UTM parameters like:

https://example.com/pricing?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=spring_sale

The Velaro chat widget automatically reads these parameters the moment it loads on the page. If the visitor then starts a conversation, that campaign attribution travels with it — no code changes, no extra setup on your site.

Where agents see it

Open any conversation and look at the Conversation Details panel on the right side of the screen. If the conversation has UTM data attached, you'll see a dedicated UTM Codes section listing whichever of the following are present:

  • Source — where the traffic came from (e.g. google, newsletter)
  • Medium — the marketing medium (e.g. cpc, email, social)
  • Campaign — the specific campaign name
  • Term — paid search keyword, if used
  • Content — used to differentiate similar ads or links within the same campaign

This section only appears when at least one UTM value is present — conversations without campaign data won't show an empty panel.

Why it matters

Agents can immediately see why a visitor is chatting — "this person came from our spring sale email" versus "this is organic search traffic" — without switching to Google Analytics or asking the visitor where they came from. It's the same underlying data your marketing team already tracks, surfaced directly where your agents are working.

Setup required

None. This works automatically for any site with the standard Velaro embed script installed. There is nothing to enable — if a conversation has UTM data, the panel appears; if it doesn't, it stays hidden.
