Setting Up Notifications to Receive Chats

To avoid missing incoming chats, you need to set up system-level or browser-based notifications depending on how you're using Velaro. Follow the steps below to configure notifications for both the Velaro Web App and the Velaro Desktop App.

Use the Velaro Desktop App (Recommended)

The Velaro Desktop App is the most reliable way to receive notifications. It doesn’t rely on browser settings and stays active even when minimized or running in the background.

Download the App

How to Adjust Your Browser Settings If You Use Velaro Web App

If you're using the Velaro Web App in a browser, you can reduce the risk of missed notifications by updating your browser settings as follows:

* Important: Browser Tabs May Be Paused

Recent updates in Chrome, Firefox, and Edge include memory-saving features that pause inactive tabs. When the Velaro Web App is not active or is minimized, you may miss chat notifications unless you change these settings.

  1. Open Chrome and go to: chrome://settings/performance
  2. Under the “General” section, find “Always keep these sites active”
  3. Add app.velaro.com to the list
