Switching From Klaviyo to Velaro
Switching From Klaviyo to Velaro
What can I import from Klaviyo?
Velaro reads your Klaviyo lists, segments and flows and creates the matching pieces in Velaro. Go to Integrations > Klaviyo > Open the migration tool. You must have connected Klaviyo first, because the import uses the API key you already saved there.
What happens to each item?
- Lists become Velaro contact lists named "Klaviyo: your list name". Subscribed profiles are added as contacts.
- Segments become Velaro segments with the same name. The members are copied as a snapshot and tagged. Klaviyo's dynamic segment rules are not translated.
- Flows become inactive drip sequences named "[Klaviyo] your flow name", with the email and text steps and the waits between them. Email templates and branches are not copied, so each email step needs a template and any splits need to be rebuilt before you turn the sequence on.
Who is imported?
Only profiles Klaviyo marks as subscribed to email marketing. Unsubscribed profiles, profiles with no consent record and profiles with no email address are skipped, and the preview shows how many were skipped for each list.
How do I preview before importing?
Select Preview import. Nothing is written. You see every list, segment and flow, how many contacts or steps it has, and whether it was already imported. Select Apply import when you are happy. Running it again never creates duplicates: existing items are reused and contacts are matched by email.
Is there a size limit?
Each list or segment imports up to 5,000 profiles per run. If a list is larger, the preview marks it as capped.
How do I compare costs?
Use Savings calculator on the same page. Enter your Klaviyo profile count and your current monthly Klaviyo bill. Velaro shows the catalog price of a Velaro plan next to it. Velaro plan prices do not change with your profile count, and seats, add-ons and usage are priced separately.
Can I do this from the command line or with AI?
Yes. In the Velaro CLI use velaro klaviyo-migration preview, apply and savings. The MCP tools are klaviyo_migration_run (a dry run unless you set dryRun to false) and klaviyo_savings_calculator.
