Shopify Store Actions, Confirmation and Limits
Shopify: store actions, confirmation and limits
Velaro can look up orders, products and customers in your Shopify store, and it can also make changes when you allow it: cancel an order, issue a refund, create a fulfillment, create a discount code, create or update a customer, tag an order, add an order note, email an invoice, and start a return.
Looking things up and making changes are separate switches, so you can keep lookups on and changes off.
Where to find the settings
Go to Admin, then Integrations, then Shopify. The "Store actions" card has these options:
- Let the AI make changes in my store. Turn this off and Velaro only looks things up. Customers who ask for a change are handed to your team.
- Ask the customer to confirm before every change. On by default. Velaro states exactly what it is about to do and waits for a clear yes before it acts.
- Largest automatic refund. Refunds above this amount are sent to a team member instead of being issued automatically.
- Largest percent discount and Largest fixed discount. Discount codes above these limits are sent to a team member.
Set a limit to 0 to block that kind of action completely. Only admins and billing users can change these settings.
How the confirmation works
Before any change, Velaro summarizes the action (for example, "Refund 20.00 on order 1234") and asks the customer to confirm. The change is made only after a clear yes in the next message. This is enforced by the system, not just by the AI's instructions.
Existing stores
Stores that already used these actions keep them. Confirmation and the default limits now apply, so a very large refund or discount goes to your team until you raise the limit.
