Branded SMS Sender ID — Apple & Android
Branded SMS Sender ID — Apple & Android
What Is Branded Sender ID?
When your business sends an SMS, recipients normally see just a phone number. Branded sender ID lets iPhones and Android devices display your business name, logo, and a verified badge instead — the same way Google's OTP messages show the Google logo and "Verified by Trusted Partner."
Both programs are free and take 1–3 business days for approval. Setup is done once per phone number and stays active as long as your registration is current.

iPhone — Apple Business Register
What customers see
A branded card above the conversation showing your logo, business name, website, and phone number. The badge reads "Verified by Trusted Partner."
How to set it up
1. Go to [register.apple.com](https://register.apple.com) and sign in with your Apple ID
2. Create a Business Account if you don't have one (free — Apple reviews within a few days)
3. Once approved, go to Phone Numbers → Add Number
4. Enter the phone number shown in your Velaro SMS settings (Settings → Channels → SMS/Text Messaging)
5. Apple sends a verification SMS to that number — enter the code to confirm ownership
6. In your business profile, upload your logo: 1024×1024 PNG, square, transparent or white background preferred
7. Fill in your business hours, website, and availability
8. Submit for review — approval typically within 1–3 business days
Your number is in Velaro
Go to Integrations → SMS / Text Messaging in your Velaro admin panel. Your sending number(s) are listed there — these are the numbers to register with Apple.
What if I have multiple numbers?
Register each number separately under the same Apple Business account. They can all show the same brand.

Android — Google RCS Business Messaging
What customers see
Your logo, brand name, and a blue verified checkmark on Android devices that support RCS (most modern Android phones on major carriers). Messages appear richer — can include images, suggested replies, and cards.
How to set it up
1. Go to [business.google.com/rcs](https://business.google.com/rcs)
2. Create a brand profile: name, logo (1024×1024 PNG), brand color, website, description
3. Register your sending number(s) under the brand
4. Submit for Google verification — takes 1–5 business days
5. Once verified, go to Integrations → RCS in Velaro and connect the verified brand
RCS is separate from SMS
RCS is a separate channel in Velaro. Conversations that arrive via RCS appear in the inbox alongside SMS — you don't lose anything by enabling it. Customers on devices that don't support RCS still receive regular SMS automatically (fallback is handled by the carrier).

Apple Messages for Business (separate from branded SMS)
This is a different program — it adds a "Message" button to your Google listing, website, or Apple Maps entry so customers can start a chat directly in the iPhone Messages app. It's an interactive chat channel, not just branding for outgoing texts.
To set this up, go to Integrations → Apple Messages in Velaro. You'll need your own Apple Business ID from Apple Business Register.

Moshky Notes
- Branded SMS is handled entirely outside Velaro (Apple Business Register, Google RCS console) — there is nothing for Moshky to configure in the platform
- The guide callout in Settings → Channels → SMS / Text Messaging is always visible — it collapses by default and expands on click
- RCS Business Profile (logo, brand name, verification status) is managed in the RCS channel panel inside Velaro — Moshky can update those fields if needed
- If a customer asks why their messages don't show their logo on iPhones: they need to complete Apple Business Register — this is not a Velaro platform setting
- If a customer asks about the "Verified by Trusted Partner" badge specifically: that appears automatically once Apple approves the number registration — no extra step required

Common Questions
Q: Will this affect delivery rates or change the number recipients see?
No. The number stays the same. Branding is display-only — it doesn't change routing, delivery, or opt-out handling.
Q: Do I need to re-register if I add a new Velaro phone number?
Yes. Each new number needs its own registration with Apple and/or Google.
Q: What if my number is a toll-free (800) number?
Toll-free numbers can be registered with Apple Business Register and Google RCS. The process is the same. Make sure your number is SMS-enabled first (visible in your Velaro SMS settings).
Q: How long does approval take?
- Apple: 1–3 business days typically, up to 5 in peak periods
- Google RCS: 1–5 business days
Q: Is there a cost?
Both Apple Business Register and Google RCS Business Messaging registration are free. Your normal SMS/RCS message costs still apply per your Velaro plan.
