Visitor Events
> Note: This article covers the Velaro Messaging platform (V20).
Visitor Events records what visitors do on your website and gives you a searchable event list and a web analytics style report. It is a paid add-on (the Visitor Event Store). If it is not enabled for your site, the page tells you to ask your Velaro administrator to add it, and your account manager can turn it on.
Visitor Events appears in the left navigation once the add-on is enabled. Only users with the Manager or Administrator role can open it.
What is stored
For each page view or chat start, Velaro stores:
- Page URL
- Referrer
- UTM source, medium, and campaign
- Country
- Visitor and session IDs
- Contact email, only when the visitor has been identified
Velaro does not store events from bots, or from visitors who have Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control turned on or who have denied consent.
Limits and retention
Your monthly event allowance and how long events are kept depend on your plan. Open Billing, then Usage Overview, to see the exact numbers for your account.
Events older than your retention period are deleted automatically. Once you reach the monthly event limit, additional events are not stored until the next month.
The Events tab
Choose a From and To date (UTC days, up to 31 days at a time). You can then:
- Search all loaded fields
- Filter by Page URL contains, Visitor ID, Contact email, Country, and UTM source
- Use Clear filters and Refresh
- Use Load more to page through results, 200 rows per page, newest first
Columns are Time (UTC), Event, Page, Referrer, UTM source, Country, Contact, and Visitor. If a range holds more events than can be shown, narrow the dates or add filters.
The Report tab
For the selected date range the report shows:
- Sessions, Unique visitors, Pageviews, and Chats started
- Top pages, Top sources, Top campaigns, and Top countries
- Daily trend
- Entry page funnel: for each entry page, how many sessions viewed another page and how many started a chat
