Appearance & Dark Mode
Overview
Velaro has two apps, and each has its own independent theme setting:
- Messaging workspace (messaging.velaro.com) — where agents handle conversations
- Admin portal (admin.velaro.com) — where admins configure settings, workflows, and reports
Both support dark mode and accent color themes. The setting is saved per-browser (localStorage) and applies immediately without a page reload.
Turning on dark mode in the Messaging Workspace
1. Click your name or avatar in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar.
2. Click Profile Settings (or go to /profile).
3. Scroll to the Appearance section at the bottom of the Preferences tab.
4. Under Mode, click Dark.
That's it — the workspace switches to dark immediately. Your choice is saved and persists across sessions.
You can also change the accent color (sidebar color) from the same panel: Blue, Ocean, Navy, Cobalt, Teal, Turquoise, Forest, Emerald, Sage, Seafoam, Slate, Grape, or Rose. Each color can be combined with either Light or Dark mode.
Turning on dark mode in the Admin Portal
1. Click your name or avatar in the top-right corner.
2. A quick Light / Dark toggle appears at the top of the profile menu — click it to switch.
3. For full accent color control, click Appearance settings in the same menu.
Accent color themes
Both apps offer 13 accent colors. These control the sidebar and primary button colors. The content area remains white in Light mode and dark gray in Dark mode, regardless of accent color.

Troubleshooting
Dark mode isn't sticking after refresh — make sure your browser allows localStorage for the Velaro domain. Incognito mode or strict privacy settings can block it.
Theme looks wrong after switching accounts — each browser stores the theme independently. If you share a browser with another agent, their theme choice will override yours on that machine.
I don't see the Preferences tab — make sure you're on the correct app. The theme switch in the messaging workspace is at /profile → Preferences tab → Appearance section (bottom of the page).
