Visitor Monitor Views And Location Settings
Visitor Monitor remembers how you like to see your visitors. Sites with location detail can also show the region and city of each visitor and choose how long visitors stay on screen.
Your saved view
Choose the columns you want, how visitors are grouped, and how the list is sorted. Velaro saves these choices to your own user, so the same view follows you to any browser or device. Other agents on your site keep their own views.
Available columns include Region and City. If your site records a shortened visitor address, an "IP (masked)" column is also available.
Region and city
When location detail is available for your site, a site manager can turn on "Record region and city" in the Location settings card at the bottom of Visitor Monitor. New visitor sessions then show the region and city next to the country, and you can group the list by region.
- The setting is off until you turn it on.
- Velaro keeps only a shortened version of the visitor address, with the final part removed.
- Region and city are best estimates based on the visitor's network and can be wrong.
- If location detail is not part of your plan, the card shows a short note about upgrading instead.
How long visitors stay on screen
Above the visitor table, Visitor Monitor shows "On site for the last N minutes", which is the current active window. A site manager can change it in the Location settings card to any value from 5 to 240 minutes.
Steps
1. Open Visitor Monitor.
2. Pick your columns, grouping, and sort order. Your choices save automatically.
3. Site managers: scroll to Location settings to turn on "Record region and city" or change the active window.
