A Current Sale tells your chat bot about a time-limited sale or discount. While the sale is active, the bot answers questions about sales, discounts and coupons from the details you entered, so customers get the same accurate answer every time. When the end time passes, the bot stops using the sale automatically.

When to use it

• A weekend or holiday sale on everything, one category, or specific products
• A percentage discount, a fixed amount off, or free shipping for a limited time
• Giving each interested customer their own coupon code instead of one code shared with everyone

Set up a sale

1. Open the Current Sales page in your Velaro admin and choose New sale.

2. Enter a name and a short description. The bot can quote the description to customers.

3. Choose what the sale applies to: everything, a category, or specific products.

4. Choose the discount type: percentage, fixed amount, or free shipping, and enter the amount.

5. Set the start and end date and time. Times are shown in Pacific time.

6. Save. The bot starts answering from the sale at the start time.

You can also ask Moshky to create the sale for you. Describe it in plain words, for example "Run a 20 percent off sale on all shoes from Friday 9 AM to Sunday 11:59 PM Pacific", and Moshky will set it up and read the details back to you. The same setup is available through the Velaro MCP tools and the velaro command line.

Coupons for customers

Turn on automatic coupons and the bot can give each customer a unique coupon when they ask about the discount. You control:

• How many coupons one customer can receive
• How many times each coupon can be used
• How many hours an issued coupon stays valid

If your store is connected to Magento, each issued coupon is created as a real cart price rule in your store, so it works at checkout. You can also enter one shared coupon code if you prefer a single code for everyone.

Turning a temporary discount into a coupon

If you want to offer a temporary discount without changing your regular prices, create a Current Sale with the discount type you want and automatic coupons turned on. Customers who ask the bot get a coupon that applies the discount at checkout, and the offer closes when the sale ends.

End a sale early

Open the sale and choose End now, or ask Moshky to end it. The bot stops answering from the sale right away. Coupons already issued keep their own expiry unless you change them in your store.

Delete a sale

Deleting removes the sale from your list. Use End now if you only want the bot to stop using it.

Tips

• Check the start and end times in Pacific time before saving.
• Keep the description short and factual. The bot repeats it to customers.
• Review your active sales before big events so only the intended offers are live.
