Website Scanning, Re-scans & Credits
This explains how Velaro keeps your bot's website knowledge up to date, what counts against your plan, and how to check what you have left.
How your website knowledge stays current
When you connect a website source, Velaro crawls it and indexes the pages so your bot can answer from them. After that, Velaro automatically re-scans on a schedule so your content stays fresh — you don't have to do anything:
- Starter — automatic re-scan every 30 days
- Professional — automatic re-scan every 7 days
- Enterprise — automatic re-scan every day
If a re-scan finds no changes, it's free — it doesn't use any of your manual re-scans.
Manual re-scans (your "credits")
If you've just updated your site and don't want to wait for the next automatic re-scan, you can trigger one yourself. Each plan includes a number of manual re-scans per month of an already-connected source:
- Starter — 3 manual re-scans / month
- Professional — 10 manual re-scans / month
- Enterprise — 30 manual re-scans / month
Connecting a new source never counts against this — only re-scanning a source you've already connected does. To prevent accidental loops, the same source can only be manually re-scanned once every few hours.
Page limits
Every plan has a monthly page allowance and a per-crawl page cap (the most pages one scan will fetch). These are finite on every plan to keep your indexing fast and your costs predictable. If you reach a limit you'll see a clear message; nothing is silently truncated.
Where to see what you have left
Go to Settings → Billing & Limits to see your scraping allowances and how much you've used this month — pages used vs. your monthly cap, and manual re-scans used vs. included.
Need more this month?
If you run a bigger update and need extra manual re-scans before your next cycle, contact support — they can add more to your account for the month. Connecting additional/new sources is always free and never blocked.
