Your Bot Finds Products By Colour, Size And Similar Words
What It Is
When a shopper asks your bot for a "blue jacket", the bot now looks past the exact word. A navy, cobalt or ocean jacket counts as blue, and the bot offers it. The same goes for sizes, so "large" also finds items listed as L. This works the same way for every connected store: Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Squarespace and Wix.
What Changed
- Colour families: blue also finds navy, cobalt, teal and similar shades. Red, green, gray, orange and the other common colours work the same way.
- Sizes: small, medium, large and extra large match the abbreviations your store uses, such as S, M, L and XL.
- Variants: the bot reads the colour and size options on each product, not only the product name.
- Product type: "jacket", "coat" and similar words are matched together with the colour, so the bot shows jackets, not every blue item.
What the Shopper Sees
- If a matching colour exists, the bot shows those products first.
- If the exact colour is not in stock, the bot says so and suggests the closest colours.
- Products that are disabled, hidden or retired in your store are never offered.
What You Need To Do
Nothing. The bot uses the product information it already reads from your store. To get the best results, give each product clear colour and size options in your store, because the bot can only match what your catalog lists.
Where to Find It
You do not need to turn anything on. The bot's product search skill for your connected store uses this automatically. See your store's skill in AI Skills to check that it is switched on.
Test Before You Go Live
- Open your bot's test chat.
- Type a colour and product, for example "blue jacket".
- Confirm the bot offers products in that colour family and does not offer disabled products.
- Try a size, such as "large", on a product that has size options.
If a Product Does Not Show Up
- Check the product is enabled and visible in your store.
- Check the product lists its colour or size as an option.
- Check the store connection is active under Integrations.
