Email Survey Submissions to Your Team
What this does
Email Submissions To sends a survey's answers to your team by email when a visitor fills it out while no agent is available. This covers the offline form and the survey shown when the chat launcher is closed. Each submission arrives as an email, so nobody has to check the survey report to find it.
Turn it on
- Open Surveys and choose the survey you want to change.
- Find the Email submissions card, below Delivery mode.
- In Email submissions to, type one or more email addresses. Separate them with commas or semicolons.
- Choose Save.
To turn it off, clear the box and choose Save. A survey that has never had addresses simply sends no email.
Rules for the address list
- Plain addresses only, such as support@example.com. Names like "Support <support@example.com>" are not accepted.
- Up to 10 addresses, and the whole list must be 1000 characters or fewer.
- Duplicates are removed automatically.
- If an address is not valid, the box turns red and tells you which one to fix. Nothing is saved until the list is valid.
Set it from the command line or an AI assistant
- Velaro CLI:
velaro survey upsert survey.json --email-submissions-to "a@example.com, b@example.com". Pass an empty value to clear the list. Leave the option off to keep the saved list. - Velaro MCP: call
survey_upsertwith the optionalemailSubmissionsTofield. Leave it out to keep the saved list, or send an empty string to clear it.
Good to know
- Only submissions from visitors who reach the survey while no agent is available are emailed. Surveys answered inside a live chat are not.
- The address list is visible only to signed in admins. It is never sent to visitors.
