Support Access Control (Disable Velaro Support Access)
What it is
An optional Account setting (Account Settings > Support Access) that lets an administrator stop Velaro staff from creating temporary support sessions for their site.
Availability
This control is not included in any standard plan. It appears only for sites where Velaro has added the "Support access control" feature to the plan or granted it to the site.
If you do not see the Support Access tab, your plan does not include it. To request it, submit a support ticket or ask Moshky.
How it works
- Only site administrators can view or change it.
- When you turn support access off, any open Velaro support session on your site is ended immediately, and Velaro staff cannot start a new session, create users, or set passwords on your site until you turn it back on. A password reset can still be done only as an email sent to the user.
- Only your own site administrators can change it. Velaro staff, including anyone signed in through a support session, cannot.
- Sites that never changed the setting are unaffected: support can create temporary sessions as usual when you ask for help.
Notes for staff
- Feature key:
EnableSupportAccessControl(entitlements only, in no plan by default; grant per site or add to a plan deliberately). The older Account Settings toggle never saved, so no site had a stored value when this gate shipped. - Enforcement is server-side in velaro-messaging (
SupportAccessController,SupportAccessPolicy): 403 on read and write for sites without the feature, andCreateSupportSessionrefuses sites that disabled support access.
