The Usage page shows what your account has used compared with what your plan includes. This article explains what you will see, what the buttons do, and how an administrator can change what is shown.

The Usage Page

Open Billing from the main menu and choose the Usage tab. Every included amount has a bar that shows how much you have used so far this month, with the date the month resets next to it.

If you go past an included amount, the page says so in plain words and explains how usage above the included amount is handled. It does not mean anything is wrong with your plan.

At the top of the page are two buttons:

• Add capacity sends a request to your account team for more of a specific item. It is pre-filled with the items that are close to their included amount.
• Compare plans opens the packages page so you can see what each plan includes.

The Dashboard Message

Administrators see a short message on the dashboard when any included amount reaches 75, 90 or 100 percent. It has the same two buttons. Select the close button to dismiss it. A dismissed message stays hidden for that item and that percentage until the month resets. If the same item reaches a higher percentage, the message shows again. Usage above an included amount always stays visible on the Usage page.

Hide or Show the Capacity Buttons

Administrators can hide the Add capacity and Compare plans buttons from the Usage page and the dashboard message. To bring them back, open the Usage page and select Show capacity buttons. This control stays on the page even when the buttons are hidden.

Monthly Recommendations

Once a month Velaro looks at how your account has been used and, only when it is useful, shows up to three short suggestions to administrators. For example:

• Your usage has been at 75 percent or more of an included amount in two of the last three months, so a plan that includes more is worth a look. The suggestion shows the price and the price per unit of both plans.
• A feature that is already part of your plan has not been used yet, with a short note on how to turn it on.
• An optional add-on that matches how your team works, such as a CRM for a larger team with steady conversation volume.

Each suggestion opens the packages page. Select Not now to dismiss a suggestion. It stays hidden until the numbers behind it change, and a suggestion is never shown twice in the same month.

Turn Recommendations Off

An administrator can turn recommendations off for the whole account with the Show recommendations switch on the Usage page. Turning it off hides current suggestions and stops new ones. You can turn it back on at any time.

Adding Capacity During Your Term

If you add capacity or a higher plan during a committed Term, it is billed at Velaro's then-current list rate, prorated for the days remaining in the Term. It stays in place through the end of the Term and becomes part of your quantity at renewal. Your account manager can walk you through the options. See the Terms of Service for the full wording.
