Sender Domain Health

Sender Domain Health

What it checks

Velaro checks your email sending domains every day. It looks at three things: when the domain registration expires, whether your email DNS records are still in place, and whether our email provider still shows the domain as verified.

Renewal reminders

You get an email and an in-app notice 60, 30, 14, 7, 3 and 1 days before your domain registration expires. Notices go to your account administrators and billing contacts. Renew the domain at the company where you registered it (your registrar), and turn on auto-renew.

If a domain expires

Your setup is kept. If the domain stays expired past the grace period, sending from that domain pauses so other mail is not affected. Sending resumes on its own about a day after the renewal shows up.

Records missing or setup unfinished

If email records disappear (for example, DNS was changed) or setup is not finished after a week, you see an Action needed notice with the steps. Open Email Campaigns, Sender Domains, and use the DNS setup. If your DNS is on Cloudflare or GoDaddy you can connect your account and Velaro restores the records for you.

Where to see it

Each sender domain shows a health badge, the registration expiry date and a history of what was found and what to do. You can dismiss a notice with Don't remind me, and it clears by itself once the problem is fixed. The warning days and grace period can be changed per account from the Velaro CLI (velaro sender-domain-health settings).
