Resy Integration
Velaro connects to Resy so your AI bot can find available tables, book reservations, confirm bookings, and handle cancellations across chat, SMS, and voice — without routing every request to the host stand.
---
Connect Resy
1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Resy
2. Enter your API Key (from your Resy OS dashboard under Settings → API)
3. Enter your Venue ID (the unique ID for your restaurant in Resy — found in your Resy OS account or provided by your Resy account manager)
4. Click Save
If you manage multiple venues, contact Velaro support — each venue requires its own configuration.

What AI Can Do
| Action | Details |
|---|---|
| Find available tables | Return open slots for a requested date, time, and party size |
| Book a reservation | Create a reservation for a guest by name, email, party size, date, and time |
| Look up a reservation | Find a booking by the guest's email address or confirmation number |
| Cancel a reservation | Cancel an existing booking after confirming with the guest |
| Venue details | Return venue description, neighborhood, hours, and any special event notes |
---
Use Cases
Inbound SMS reservation — Guest texts your number asking for a table for two on Saturday evening. Bot checks Resy availability, offers two or three time options, and completes the booking once the guest confirms.
IVR call booking — Guest calls after hours and the Velaro IVR handles the conversation. Bot collects party size, date, time preference, and guest details, then books in Resy and confirms the reservation number.
Confirmation lookup — Guest texts asking for their reservation details. Bot looks up by email or confirmation number and returns the date, time, and party size.
Cancellation — Guest contacts you by chat or SMS to cancel. Bot retrieves the booking by email or confirmation, confirms the details, and cancels in Resy.
Walk-in availability question — Guest asks if you have anything available tonight for four people. Bot checks Resy and returns the next available slots.

Permissions and Data Access
Velaro uses your Resy API Key and Venue ID to access:
- Table availability and inventory
- Reservation creation, lookup, and cancellation
- Venue details and hours
Velaro does not access guest payment information, Resy Analytics, or your back-office financial data.

Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| No availability returned | Confirm that inventory is available in Resy OS for the requested date and party size. Tables may be blocked, fully booked, or outside the booking window. |
| Reservation booking fails | Check Settings → Integrations → Resy → Activity for error details. Common causes: party size exceeds the largest available table, requested time is in the past, or API key permissions are insufficient. |
| Integration shows Disconnected | Your Resy API Key may have been rotated. Go to Settings → Integrations → Resy and paste the current key. |
| Reservation lookup returns nothing | Confirm the guest is searching by the email address used when the reservation was originally made, or the exact confirmation number from their Resy confirmation email. |
| Wrong venue data returned | Confirm the Venue ID entered in Velaro matches the intended restaurant. If you manage multiple Resy venues, each must be configured separately. |
